Our Story…

So every family has a story. My family’s story is just a little bit crazy! We have always been β€œdifferent” or outside of the box in the way we do things. My parents are serial entrepreneurs, so growing up was definitely an adventure of new and explorative endeavors. We’ve never fit the mold of β€œtraditional”, from writing songs and recording in studios to…creating and presenting new financial software to banks all over the world, we’ve had the opportunity to see and do a lot of β€œoutlandish” things together!

Since starting up businesses and creating β€œfirst-to-market” items is in my family’s blood, it’s not surprising that we followed the same path while putting together a wedding venue.

Now full disclosure, we had not initially intended to open a wedding venue. I know…how are we here then. For the rest of the story, continue below:

Starting businesses and creating things that have never been done before is HARD WORK! Exhausting days with extremely long hours, is inevitable for success. Although my parents were extremely busy and included us (their 5 kids) in many of their business ventures, it was vital to them that we understood that family is one of the most important aspects in life above all else.

In order to really get the importance of family ingrained in us, they came up with innovative family vacations that were sometimes amazing…and sometimes…not so amazing, but ultimately resulted in cementing our family relationships and instilling family memories to withstand the test of time. We often times find ourselves still talking and re-living these memories over and over again…even as adults!

As our family and business endeavors have grown over the years with marriages, grandkids, medical billing software creations, car dealerships etc., the ability to embark on those outlandish family adventures had become increasingly difficult. My parent’s solution was simple, let’s create a getaway for our family ,like no other, right here in North Carolina. The search was underway, and in July of 2018, Hyatt Haven Ranch was procured and became our new family destination station! With over 130 acres of incredible landscape, there was something available for everyone to enjoy.

We began having friends and family come share this special bit of land with us, and soon realized that we loved having the opportunity to help create the lasting family memories, that we hold so dear ourselves, for other families.

So, to stay true to the entrepreneur spirit that lives within us, we decided as a family that it might make sense to open a dude ranch. This way other families could come visit and get away from the hustle and bustle of the craziness happening all around…and enjoy a few moments of bonding the way families used to β€œin the good β€˜ole days”. However, as we started down that path we realized relatively quickly…that there was just one problem. Our ranch was too PRETTY! We don’t mean to sound vain, but as we started to take the pictures and get everything put together for the dude ranch we realized that Hyatt Haven just didn’t look like a dude ranch at all. At this point, we had already had several guests come out and enjoy fun filled days with us, and pretty much every guest that came made the same comment, β€œYou should totally have weddings here, this place looks like it came right out of a movie”.

Well, we try as business owners not β€œstare a gift horse in the mouth” (so to speak). Therefore, we went back to the drawing board and quickly started to see the direction of Seven Paths Manor unfold. From amazing vendors located just right down the road, to imaginative engineering…the entire process was awe inspiring. We knew that we would be able to serve families best by starting at the beginning β€œThe Wedding Day”.

We have really enjoyed getting to work with each other and with the Seven Paths Manor couples we have had the opportunity to serve. We are excited for the future of what Seven Paths Manor will become, and to create even more fun and memory inspiring experiences for more couples and their families. We invite you all to come enjoy the magic, innovation, and serenity that truly only exists on the 130+ acre ranch located in the sweet historic town of Spring Hope, NC.

By the way, I’m Shayla. I’m the oldest of the 5 kids, and the only girl! The project of Seven Paths Manor has been entrusted to me and my team. We are thrilled to work with you and serve you in whatever capacity we can. We will do our best to ensure that you have an incredible wedding experience, and to help you create irreplaceable family memories just like ours that will last forever!
